1987 Buick Regal Grand National
The Buick Grand National came out in 1982 and was named for the NASCAR Grand National racing series. At first the Grand National didn't come turbocharged. It wasn't until 1984 that turbocharger engines were the rule. Also 1984 was the first year the car came out in black colors only. 1987 when 27,590 models were made. In this same year another rare Buick Grand National option was produced. While not a fan of the Star Wars movies since they promote new age teachings, an interesting side note on the 1987 Buick Grand National is that this car was released during the time the Star Wars movies were extremely popular. Buick took advantage of this and the fact that their Grand National

was black and seemed so clandestine that they called it the "Darth Vader Car". Advertising showed Darth Vader with the Buick Grand national.
